What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website so the site can recognize your browser across requests and store lightweight items such as a session ID or preference.

U-Mail also uses localStorage and sessionStorage to persist inbox state and draft content between browser sessions. These are not cookies and are not sent to our servers.

What we use and why

We only use the cookies listed in the table above. Essential cookies cannot be disabled without breaking the service.

Non-essential cookies can be cleared or blocked through your browser at any time.

Third-party cookies

Stripe sets fraud-prevention cookies on billing pages only. They are used for payment security, not for advertising, profiling, or retargeting.

How to control cookies

All major browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in to U-Mail.

Chrome: Settings -> Privacy and security -> Cookies and other site data. Firefox: Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Cookies and Site Data. Safari: Settings -> Privacy -> Manage Website Data. Edge: Settings -> Cookies and site permissions -> Cookies and site data.

Policy changes

If we add new cookies or change how existing ones behave, we update this page and notify registered users at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
